The nursery program in Jambiani, Zanzibar has been busy supporting all the students through the Washy Washy, Scrub Scrub program, as well as providing daily porridge to all the students every day.
This quarter, we had the great opportunity to introduce “brushy, brushy” to Ibrahim Junior Class. Out of all 4 of the schools we work with, this is the only class where the program didn’t run because of the extremely large number of students. However, due to the incredible support from our African Impact volunteers in June, we were able to launch the program so every student - 95 students - were able to receive their own toothbrush and learn about dental hygiene.
In July and August, we are providing English support to 2 additional nursery schools within Jambiani with a potential to expand the Foundation’s support. At all nursery schools, we have been teaching them numbers, days of the week, and months of the year.
The kids continue to absolutely love to brush their teeth daily - even some try to sneak in for a second squeeze!
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far! Our goal is to secure our final funds for the year so we can continue to provide porridge every day so our students can learn on a full stomach!
