Help Feed Slum Families during this COVID 19

Happy New Year Friends,

The covid-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to the slums of Nyalenda in Kisumu.Kenya.Many families experieced the loss of loved ones,jobs and livelihoods, which led to deep emotional and economic distress. The pandemic left a lasting impact particularly on vulnerable households that struggled to cope with the harxh realities of life in its aftermath.

The James Were Foundation has remained steadfast in its commitment to supporting affectec families.The foundation continues to care for 10 families who bore the brunt of the pandemic's effects. Our key interventions include:-

1. Counselling services: this helps families come to terms with grief and trauma caused by the loss  of loved ones, we provide regular counselling lessons. This initiative aims to foster emotional healing and resilience.

2.Feeding program: Recognizing the food insecurity exacerbated by job losses, we have implemented a feeding program for 10 families .This ensures they receive nutritious meals and reduces burden of daily sustenance.

3. Economic and Emotional Rehabilitation:for families that lost employement opportunities, the Foundation offers guidance and empowerment to help them navigate these challenges. Wd support them in rebuilding their lives and finding alternative ways to sustain their households.

since the onset of Covid-19 several years ago, many families in Nyalenda Kisumu,Kenya, have faced sigificant disruptions to their livelihoods,education,health, resulting in tragic losses. The James Were Foundation remains committed to supporting those who have been adversely affected, even in small but meanungful ways.

we continue to check in on these families,providing essential food supples and medical assistance to help them cope with the ongoing challengex. Our efforts, tnough modest, aim to alleviate some of the burdens they face.

we pray each time that calamity like that dont happen again and we continue to educatte our people on how to have a healthy living with observing the highest hygiene.
