Summary

Syria is in the grip of one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. 90% of people live below the poverty line. In Aleppo, where our local volunteers are, buildings are damaged and crucial services like water and electricity are severely limited. Winter is a deadly threat, especially for displaced families. Children are the most vulnerable, facing risks of hypothermia and illnesses. A child's coat can mean protection, warmth, and dignity. Help us give 200 children a warm coat this winter!

Challenge

This winter, many of Aleppo's children face a lifesaving crisis. Extreme poverty (Action Against Hunger, 2024) means essentials like warm coats and heating fuel are unaffordable for most families. The cold is a deadly threat. Displaced children in damaged shelters, often with only one change of clothes, are highly vulnerable to hypothermia and respiratory infections (UNICEF, 2025). Providing a winter coat is life-saving protection against the harsh temperatures.

Solution

We are focusing on the most vulnerable population in Aleppo: displaced and at-risk children, specifically those aged 1 to 12 years old, including children living in damaged or partially rehabilitated buildings with no proper insulation or heating. Each high-quality winter coat is bought locally, reducing costs and supporting small Syrian businesses. Our priority is the protection of children's lives: a warm winter jacket is not just comfort; it is lifesaving protection against the elements.

Long-Term Impact

Providing winter essentials is an investment in the future of Syria's children. Beyond immediate protection from hypothermia and severe illnesses, it supports their long-term well-being. By allowing children to move and attend school with dignity, it helps restore a sense of normalcy crucial for overcoming years of trauma and loss. It fosters a psychosocial foundation that enables them to continue their development and education, becoming more resilient as they grow. You ensure they will thrive.
