Awareness to farmers on organic food

By Dr.Vincent Paul B | Director

Dear Donor !

Greetings from CHHASE India !

Your support enable us to give awareness to farmers to adopt healthy organic methods to cultivate and make value added products to earn more. .With our regular programs, they are now know well about organic cultivation farming and earning.

With your support, we have brought awareness to cultivate Drumstick to 250 farmers and how to market it in different ways. We support small farmers to plant Moringa tree for both health and wealth.

Practical Education & Incentives

Transitioning to organic farming often involves an initial yield decline, making financial and technical support critical.

  • Demonstration Farms: Establishing "live labs" where farmers can see hands-on techniques for preparing bio-fertilizers, composting, and natural pest control proves effectiveness better than theory alone. We took our farmer groups to government demonstration farms to teach them how they adopt better ways.
  • "Agri-groups": Utilizing local community leaders or successful organic farmers to mentor others builds trust. One successful intervention saw 200 families switch to organic methods through a single "agri-friend".
  • Financial Aid Programs: We brought awareness about PKVY where India govt, provide up to 31,000/ha over three years to help farmers cover input costs during the transition.
  • Workshops & Seminars: Regular training sessions on advanced technical practices, such as biological pest control and specialized crop rotations, bridge the gap between basic concepts and successful implementation.
  • Building Trust & Demand

Consumer demand drives the market, but awareness of certification and benefits is often a bottleneck.

  • Direct Farm-to-Table Models: Connecting urban consumers directly with farmers via weekly organic fairs or e-commerce platforms reduces information asymmetry and builds long-term trust.
  • Educational Campaigns: Using slogans like "Think Before You Eat" or "Grow Green, Live Healthy" in pamphlets and posters helps highlight health benefits, such as produce being free from synthetic residues.
  • Digital Branding & Labeling: Promoting recognizable logos, such as India’s Jaivik Bharat, ensures authenticity and helps consumers make informed choices.
  • Organic Kitchen Gardens: Encouraging small-scale organic gardening at home or in schools provides a low-risk entry point for families and students to learn about soil health and biodiversity.
  • Youth Engagement: Highlighting agriculture as an innovative, technology-driven career (e.g., using drip irrigation and precision organic techniques) helps attract younger generations.
  • Visual Media: Using earthy-toned posters, info graphics, and short-form videos to explain the "interdependence with nature" story makes the environmental benefits tangible.

These materials offer insights into promoting organic farming, from educational lessons to poster design for wider outreach.

PLANS FOR THE NEXT QUARTER

  • We  Propagate 1500 moringa tree seedlings.
  •  Continue training farmers on moringa management
  •  Sourcing and processing moringa powder and oil

Your support brings light to lives of the farmers. Each dollar you donate will help them to raise more moringa trees and help them to start value added products to increase their inome.

For $ 100 you can help a farmer to plant more moringa plants.

We are creating maximum of awareness to farmers, general public about organic products. With your support, we are able to reach more people. Yet we may need more time to spread word about the benefits of organic food.

CHHASE thanking all our monthly recurring donors. Such donations are our strength and it is pushing our projects to success.
We would love to hear your feedback, comments & Suggestion on our program.

Best Wishes,

Team CHHASE India.....
