Vocational Guidance for Adolescents in Medellin

In the first half of 2025, we launched Brújula, our vocational guidance program designed to help adolescents navigate one of the most important journeys of their lives: discovering who they are and where they want to go. Through dynamic, experiential workshops, we’ve created spaces where young people can reflect, dream, and begin to shape their futures with greater clarity and confidence.

Highlights from the First Semester

1. High Participation and Emotional Engagement
Even in groups with challenging dynamics, teens have shown strong emotional connection and active participation. The workshops have sparked genuine reflection, encouraging them to think about their future with more autonomy and hope.

2. Transformative Shifts in Attitude and Self-Perception
Many participants have begun to identify their personal talents, express their fears, and build realistic goals. In several groups, meaningful conversations have emerged about life after high school—conversations that challenge limiting beliefs and open up new possibilities.

3. Strengthened Group Bonds and Emotional Climate
Thanks to creative, symbolic, and reflective methodologies, participants have not only connected with themselves but also with their peers. Outdoor stations, hands-on materials, and introspective exercises have been especially well received, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual recognition.

4. Personalized Support for Complex Cases
We’ve provided close support to teens facing specific challenges such as lack of motivation, unclear vocational paths, or personal and family obstacles. In these cases, we’ve activated support networks and offered tailored follow-up to ensure no one is left behind.

A Compass for the Future

This first semester has laid a solid foundation for vocational exploration. More than just sharing information, Brújula has moved emotions, sparked decisions, and opened new doors. Teens are beginning to see themselves not as passive recipients of their circumstances, but as protagonists of their own stories.
