Dear Supporters,
We are delighted to share with you that with the support of well-wishers like you, we have planted 3.7 lakh saplings on 1,275 hectares of land, benefiting 15,000 small farmer households in south Rajasthan. As well as supporting the livelihoods of local tribal communities, the plantation will also create the potential to sequester 3,000 tonnes of carbon annually after five years, helping to address climate change.
This year we aim to plant 3 lakh saplings across 1,200 hectares. These trees will have the potential to sequester an additional 2,568 tonnes of carbon, and the plantations will also provide vital resources such as fuel, fodder and fruit to the local communities, improving their quality of life.
By involving the communities in the planting process, we are fostering a sense of ownership and ensuring that these green spaces are cared for in the future. This community-based plantation will also build community solidarity around shared assets, creating stronger, more cohesive communities.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for believing in our organisation and supporting this cause, and hope for your continued support for a better future.
Kind regards
Team Seva Mandir
