Dear HOPE Supporter,
It is important for us to let you know exactly how your support changes the lives of our patients. We would like you to be introduced to Azida, a patient with an incredible spirit despite the difficult life she has lead.
Azida was just one month old when a gust of wind knocked over the candle next to her bed and lit her moquito net on fire. As she is one in a family of seven and her Father only makes $5-$7 a day as a laborer, options for burn treatment were too far and too expensive for the family.Due to the fact that she did not receive immediate care, Azida's burn wounds contracted, causing her hand and arm to fuse together. She has only had use of one arm and one hand from the time of her injury. During one of our partner ReSurge International's trips to provide care for burn patients at our hospital, the staff and ReSurge Team were taken by this young girl. Azida was playful, hopeful, and continously smiling as she worked with the team and HOPE staff.
Your support goes to helping patients like Azida not only gain access to surgery but for follow-up care and support at our hospital for months after their surgery. Thank you for your dedication to helping burn patients in rural Bangladesh.
Best Regards,
Ashley Pugh
