Dear Friend!
A School for Children Kyabakuza, a small village in the Masaka region of Uganda, is home to around 1,000 children. It is an area marked by deep poverty—families rely on small-scale farming that often fails to yield enough to sustain them. There is no hospital in the vicinity, leading to high mortality and many orphans. There is also no school or kindergarten within a population of 28,000 people. The first, most urgent need is food—but the second, equally vital, is education. Without access to schooling, children remain trapped in the cycle of poverty. Many end up as street children, vulnerable and without prospects. Missionary sisters working in the area provide care and daily meals to the children. However, without a proper educational structure, the cycle of poverty is bound to repeat.
Challenge: The lack of educational facilities in the Masaka region leaves hundreds of children without access to learning, development, or hope for a better future. The absence of schools contributes to the growing number of "street children"—young people living in extreme vulnerability. The systemic neglect of rural regions like Kyabakuza reinforces generational poverty and social exclusion.
Solution: This project aims to build a school for the poorest children in Kyabakuza. The facility will provide basic education, emotional support, and a space where children can discover and develop their talents. With even the most fundamental schooling, these children will no longer be forced to the margins of society. They will instead be given the tools to shape their own future.
Long-Term Impact: Education is transformative. By building this school, we are not only responding to an urgent need—we are investing in long-term change. Each child educated is a life redirected toward opportunity, empowerment, and dignity. Over time, the school will become a foundation for community renewal. As children learn, grow, and dream, they will begin to envision a future that is not defined by poverty, but by possibility.
Next Steps: Identifying land and finalizing construction plans:
Securing construction materials and local workforce:
Providing interim learning support where possible (e.g., outdoor teaching spaces or temporary shelters) Continuing to fundraise for the remaining €7,614 needed for the construction.
Dear our donors so far—thank you. Your support is already making a difference. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us get closer to a school, to dignity, and to a future for the children of Kyabakuza. We are deeply grateful for your continued belief in this project. Together, we can bring education, hope, and transformation to a forgotten village in Uganda.
