We have had an exciting time over the past couple of months with some great workshops with a school in Bolton and with groups that are working with Football for Peace, so your continued support is certainly reaping rewards.
Some members of our Generation Change team ran some excellent workshops with four Year 9 groups that were run virtually and received very well. One student’s comment was simply, “Wow, I loved it!”. Another group of the team ran an “in person” afternoon at Bradford University with a group of 14-year-olds who are working with Football for Peace. The afternoon included some “hands on” community action with litter picking across the University campus. The whole workshop was very successful, and more sessions are planned.
Our PeaceJam UK Youth Leadership Team are constructing the programme for our November event. There will be a one-day PeaceJam UK Slam on Saturday 12 November with a great theme - “Perseverance”, and three strands: Environment, Refugees, and Violence Prevention. The in-person event will take place at The University of Winchester and there will be a virtual event running alongside. There will be a question and answer session with a panel of young activists, group discussions, workshops and much, much more. The event flier is attached, and the registration site will open very soon.
Your support has enabled us to release the power of our Youth Team and the young mentors and facilitators of our Generation Change team. These young people continue to make a significant difference to the experiences and lives of other young people and are building a larger and larger cohort of young people who want to work for peace and make change. Thank you so much for your generosity.
