Preschool Repairs after Cyclone Filipo

We are delighted to share a few photos from the preschool graduation that took place last Thurday. The graduates learned songs, donned caps and capes, received official cetificates, ate cake and took home pens and notebooks to use in primary school. 

The thirty graduates were honored by their families, community members, teachers and representatives from ParCo and Bahia Mar as well as a special guest, Gina, a supporter who has been with the school since before these little ones even started. You were there in spirit too as we gathered under the playground shade that was replaced and reinforced with your help after Cyclone Filipo destroyed it in March 2024. 

Your donations also made it possible to fix the classroom floors and roofs. We are still completing repairs to the store rooms and adding doors to the latrines (to keep them locked outside of school hours). And most importantly, of course, we will be fixing playground equipment over school break so the children will return to new, safe equipment!

Thankfully, a generous donor has offered to cover the remaining balance of the "Preschool Repairs After Cyclone Filipo" project with an additional boost for the playground equipment!

Many thanks for your help in repairing the school and making it possible for these little ones to make it through preschool - they will have advantage in primary school and for the rest of their lives.
