Dear MHO generous donors
With your generous support, MHO continues to make meaningful progress in implementing the project “Prevent GBV & Female Genital Mutilation in Ethiopia”. Although the project has not yet raised substantial funds, the contributions received have been used efficiently to create real impact in the lives of vulnerable women and children. During this reporting period, MHO successfully rehabilitated 172 homeless mothers—many of whom had been living on the streets in extreme poverty and danger. These women have been provided with safe shelter, post-rape care services, medical treatment, trauma counseling, and psychosocial support. Through these efforts, MHO has been able to restore dignity, safety, and hope to mothers and children who were once victims of exploitation and abuse.
Beyond direct service delivery, MHO has also worked to empower these women through education and small-scale economic activities, helping them gain skills for self-reliance and stability. The organization continues to provide health screenings and awareness sessions on gender-based violence, reproductive health, and early childhood development at its rehabilitation facility. Many of the beneficiaries, like women. And a young mother pictured here who survived street violence and is now earning an income through vegetable gardening—are living testimonies of the power of compassion and community support. Her story reflects the transformation that is possible when survivors are given a chance to heal and rebuild their lives with dignity.
Looking ahead, MHO plans to strengthen its advocacy efforts to prevent GBV and FGM in communities across Ethiopia, while expanding access to essential support services for survivors. The organization remains deeply committed to its mission despite resource constraints. Each contribution, no matter how small, helps save lives, protect women and children, and create pathways toward empowerment and independence. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors and partners for standing with us in this journey.
Together, we can change many lives.
