Project G Health Education Workshop Report

By Chen | Project G Education Team Member

Location: Rolous Secondary School, Cambodia
Beneficiaries: 243 students (183 girls, 60 boys)

Overview

The Project G health education workshop was successfully delivered at Rolous Secondary School, providing students with essential knowledge about health, gender respect, and community responsibility.

In close coordination with the school director, our team prepared and delivered the full Project G curriculum. The school’s well-equipped classrooms, each with a projector, allowed educators to use both slide presentations and flipcharts, ensuring smooth and engaging sessions.

A total of 243 students participated, including 183 girls and 60 boys. In line with Project G’s mission, 183 menstrual health kits were distributed to female students to support their dignity, confidence, and continued access to education.

Workshop Highlights

Educators gathered early at our campus to collect materials and review lesson plans before travelling together to the school. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the school’s leadership and teachers, who helped organise students into classrooms.

Across all sessions:

  • 100 student evaluations were completed (50 girls, 50 boys).

  • Educators used varied teaching methods - real-life examples, demonstrations, interactive discussion, and humour - to maintain strong student engagement.

  • Students became increasingly confident, openly participating in discussions and learning together.

A particularly meaningful session explored the role of men in families and communities, helping male students understand their responsibility in creating safe and respectful environments. The final lesson addressed human trafficking awareness, giving students critical knowledge about personal safety and community protection.

Conclusion & Impact

The workshop strengthened students’ understanding of health, built mutual respect between genders, and encouraged confidence and informed decision-making. These lessons contribute directly to healthier individuals and stronger rural communities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our founders, sponsors, educators, and team members whose commitment made this workshop possible.
