REPORT ENTREPRENEURIAL TZELTAL ROOTS. GROWING TOGETHER (60040)
15 women leaders who belong to the Women's Network completed a training process of participation and political organization with the aim of being able to build a work agenda based on the problems in the region and present it to the authorities of the municipality of Ocosingo and Chilón. The board of directors made up of 5 women and accompanied by Xilotl.presented the work plan with the secretary of the City Council of Ocosingo and a meeting was held with the Councilor of Chilón to learn about the work of the women's network where they proposed in broad strokes the capacities of the Network on issues of common interest, (a) Experience and knowledge of local realities: management of community diagnoses with field information on the situation, concerns and aspirations of women as an induction of public policies for the integration of women. (b) Promotion of the active inclusion of Tzeltal women in the political and social processes of the municipality, ensuring that their voices are heard and their rights are respected; (c) Training of municipal officials on the prevention and treatment of gender-based violence; The proposals were well received, officials showed interest in collaborating and meetings will be held to specify contents. We held 2 meetings with the network to claim and commemorate two important dates (International Human Rights Day and International Women's Day); we reinforced the sense of belonging to the network and also learned about other experiences of women's collectives that are also watching over the good life of women, we had guests from organizations such as ARIC, Fray Pedro Lorenzo de la Nada Human Rights Committee, Red Mixe, Sbelal Kuxlejalil, Casa de la Mujer Indígena and Afromexicana.
