From State Advocacy to Global Recognition

Oppose PA HB 2071

Because of your support, Horseracing Wrongs continues to drive meaningful change for racehorses through legislative advocacy and growing international recognition. Thank you for making this work possible.

Opposing Public Funding of Horseracing in Pennsylvania

This period, we launched a major campaign to oppose Pennsylvania House Bill 2071, legislation that would continue funneling enormous public subsidies into the horseracing industry.

Each year, the industry receives about $200 million in slot-machine revenue, totaling more than $3.5 billion since 2004. Nearly 90% of purse money now comes from gambling subsidies—not betting on races. Without this funding, the industry could not sustain itself.

With your help, supporters contacted lawmakers, urged bill co-sponsors to withdraw support, and spoke out against using public funds to prop up a private gambling industry built on animal suffering.

International Recognition for Horseracing Wrongs

We are honored to share that Horseracing Wrongs received the Shining World Compassion Award from Supreme Master Television in recognition of our work to protect racehorses and expose industry cruelty. Along with this award, we received a $10,000 grant to support our advocacy, investigations, and public education efforts.

Your support powers this work—from state-level advocacy to global recognition. Thank you for being a voice for horses.
