In Ahtimilat Camp, in northern Aleppo, lives the young boy Abdullah with his six siblings and his parents… all together in one single room.
Imagine nine souls crowded into a tiny space, searching for warmth, for food, for a life that resembles dignity.
Abdullah told us, with a voice mixed between joy and need, that the bread they received made his entire family “smile” — even if just for one day.
Because for them, bread is not just food…
It is a lifeline that keeps them going.
His father works in the agricultural fields, exhausting himself from morning until evening, yet he still cannot secure even the basic needs of his children.
His mother tries to ease the hunger of her little ones, but she has nothing except prayer.
Why is bread so important for Abdullah?
Because bread is the most essential need for children in the camps.
It is what allows Abdullah to sleep without the pain of hunger.
It gives his six siblings the most basic right — the right to eat.
In a life like theirs, a loaf of bread means so much:
dignity, stability, safety, and comfort.
Why must this project continue?
