A Loaf of Bread Sparked Suzan's Dream

By Muhammed deebeh | Project leader

Dear Generous Donor,

In a forgotten corner of northern Syria lives Suzan —

A 10-year-old displaced girl, carrying on her small shoulders the weight of a war she never chose.

She lost her older sister, her father, her home, and even her school desk.

But there’s one thing she never lost… her dream.

Suzan dreams of becoming a teacher,

of building a school for the children of her camp,

so no one grows up in the darkness of illiteracy like she did.

But even that dream seems distant,

when she still cannot read or write because poverty was harsher than letters.

In her cold tent, with no books, no toys, and no warmth,

hunger became her daily companion —

Until one day…

A loaf of bread arrived, thanks to your kind donation.

Bread may seem like a simple thing,

but in Suzan’s life, it was as big as hope.

It was temporary fullness, but also a lasting reminder:

“You are not forgotten.”

Because of your support, we reached Suzan and hundreds of other families.

We gave them bread — a warm, humble gift that carried with it the essence of dignity and care.

Dear donor,

Your bread is not just food — it is life.

Continuing this project means children’s dreams won’t die of hunger.

It means dignity is preserved under the weight of poverty.

It means hope still lives in the mud-soaked paths of the camps.

Please, don’t stop.

Every loaf you give to a child like Suzan

is a dream upheld,

a heart reassured,

a silent act of humanity reborn.

Thank you,

For giving Suzan a better day,

And perhaps… a completely different future.

With deep gratitude and respect,
