In northern Syria, inside the modest tents of Ahtimilat Camp, little Marah lives with her parents and younger sister Rania. Their daily life is a continuous struggle against cold weather, scarce food, and the harsh reality of displacement. Although Marah and Rania dream of nothing more than a normal childhood, the conditions of camp life make securing even the basics a daily challenge.

Marah… A Child Searching for Normalcy Amid Hardship

Marah wakes up each morning to the sound of strong winds shaking their tent, and to the worried eyes of her mother, who wonders how she will secure food for her children. Her father leaves the tent every day seeking any job that could provide a little income, but opportunities in the camp are almost nonexistent.

During our recent field distribution in Ahtimilat Camp, our team reached Marah’s family and provided them with fresh bread, at a time when obtaining bread has become a real struggle due to rising prices and the lack of work.

This bread was not just food — it was:
