Dalia is a little girl, not yet eight years old, living in the Al-Sabra neighborhood in Gaza. She faces a reality that no child should ever have to endure. She is one of thousands of Palestinian children who have been deprived of their most basic rights: a childhood filled with safety and joy. In Gaza, there are no places to play, no safe schools to learn in, and not even guarantees to meet basic life needs.
After more than 460 days of siege, getting clean water has become a distant dream. Children stand in long queues every day, just to get a sip of water, a piece of bread, or any glimmer of hope for a better life.
However, thanks to your generous donations, we have been able to change Dalia and her family’s life. Today, Dalia drank clean water for the first time in a long while. With a smile lighting up her innocent face, she told us, "Today, we will drink water without any strange smell or taste." Her simple words were enough to show us the difference you are making. She ended her words with a heartfelt prayer for everyone who extended a helping hand to bring this blessing to the people of Gaza.
