Activity Report: February 2025 to June 2025
1. Performance Training for RASA Day 2025 – “Thiruvadi Sharanam”
The second half of the academic year 2024–25 was marked by a highly successful and spiritually enriching performance training period for RASA Day, held on February 20, 2025. The production, Thiruvadi Sharanam, explored eight powerful stories of divine surrender, centered on transformation, devotion, and faith.
Participation: Nine centers collaborated, including institutions for the hearing and speech impaired, neurodiverse learners, and primary school students.
Training Focus: Students were trained in stage skills like spatial awareness, cue-based dialogue delivery, memory, coordination, and expressive storytelling.
Artistic Direction: Concept, music, choreography, and direction were led by Dr. Ambika Kameshwar.
Notable Performances:
Vijay Vidya Primary School students performed the title refrain across all scenes.
Babli Ramachandran portrayed “Bhakti” across all stories, representing unity and spiritual devotion.

Murugan and Idumban – MGR School for the Hearing and Speech Impaired

2. Educational Trip – Vellore (March 27–28, 2025)
A two-day educational tour was organized to provide holistic exposure and spiritual refreshment:
Day 1: Visit to the Golden Temple, Sripuram. Students absorbed the spiritual ambiance and engaged in team-building games post-visit.
Day 2: Visit to Amirthi National Park for wildlife observation. Students spotted jackals, peacocks, reptiles, and water birds, promoting ecological awareness.
Outcomes: Strengthened peer bonding, holistic understanding, goal setting for the next academic year, and deepened environmental sensitivity.
3. Teaching Capacity Building and Lesson Planning (April 2025)
Post-RASA Day, a phase of reflective planning and team strengthening was undertaken. Teachers underwent training sessions to align with new goals for the upcoming year.
Lesson plans were restructured to balance performance training, life skills, and academic integration across centers.
4. Key Developments in June 2025
Admissions and Enrollments:
New admissions were welcomed into Life Skills Training, Performance Training, and Livelihood Training programs.
Weekend Batches Introduced:
Special weekend batches launched for the neurodiverse population aged 8 and above in both life skills and performance training, to accommodate working families and school-goers.
School Partnerships:
Two outreach schools have partnered with RASA for online theatre arts training. Customized lesson plans and structured goals were developed, and the partner school educators were trained to implement them with ease and effectiveness.
Conclusion
The months from February to June 2025 have been transformative for RASA – Ramana Sunritya Aalaya. From a spiritually rich RASA Day to strategic planning, outreach, and expanding our inclusive programs, this period reflects our commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and empowerment through the arts and holistic education.
