The 2025 Summer Institute of Enseña por Panamá was a strategic investment in the professional and personal development of public school teachers committed to transforming education in underserved communities. Over the course of four weeks, participating educators engaged in a rigorous training program that combined theory, classroom practice, and ongoing mentorship—impacting the learning experience of over a hundred students across Panama.
Key Achievements of the 2025 Summer Institute
Stronger, More Skilled Educators
95% of participants successfully designed high-quality lesson plans, exceeding the initial target.
By the second classroom observation, 100% of teachers met quality execution standards, thanks to tailored coaching and feedback.
While only 63% of teachers met the leadership rubric goal, the overall progress showed significant growth in classroom management, planning, and instructional leadership.
Meaningful Student Impact
A total of 131 students from 60 public schools across 5 provinces participated in the summer school component.
The program achieved a 75% student retention rate, despite challenges related to digital access and connectivity.
23% of students met academic growth targets, with an additional 42% showing partial improvement, highlighting strong potential for long-term progress.
Students also met the social-emotional learning goal, demonstrating growth in mindsets related to perseverance, empathy, and self-belief.
High Satisfaction and Engagement
100% of teacher participants reported feeling satisfied or very satisfied with the experience, especially noting the quality of mentorship and the relevance of the training.
The trust and connection with their tutors received an average rating of 4.85/5.
The closing ceremony celebrated this shared journey alongside students, school leaders, and institutional allies like Banco General and DHL—underscoring the collective commitment to equitable education.
