Provide quality education to 5000 youth in Panama

In classrooms across Panama, a new generation of teachers is transforming education — one student at a time. Through its Educational Leadership Program, Enseña por Panamá recruits and trains committed professionals who teach for two years in public schools while developing their leadership, pedagogical, and personal growth skills.

Among our inspiring stories is that of Yeraldin Herrera, a chemistry teacher who discovered that learning can happen anywhere, not only within classroom walls. “Enseña por Panamá taught me that education goes beyond four walls,” she says. Similarly, Patricia Betegón learned that teaching is not about knowing everything, but about learning alongside her students — a mindset that now shapes her classroom every day.

Beyond classrooms, our programs connect education with the world of work. Through the GoTeach Career Accelerator, a partnership with DHL, we reached 40 students from public schools in Panama East. These young people participated in workshops, career fairs, and storytelling sessions such as “Traveling Through Time,” where professionals and alumni shared how they built their own success. Together with MITRADEL and the University of Panama, we opened real pathways for students to explore future careers and strengthen employability skills.

At the same time, the “Ready for Now” Project, supported by Global Bank and DHL, is empowering 100 high-school students from Panama and Chiriquí with digital, communicative, and socio-emotional competencies. Using Google Workspace and AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, students learn to organize their digital workspaces, collaborate online, and simulate job interviews. The program helps them bridge the gap between education and the labor market, giving them the confidence and tools to build their future.

Internationally, our educational exchange with Mexico allowed Panamanian and Mexican teachers to share best practices and cultural insights. As one teacher shared, “Although we speak the same language, many words have different meanings — yet we find new ways to connect and learn from one another.” These exchanges deepen regional collaboration and reaffirm that education is a shared effort across borders.

Each of these stories — from classrooms to corporate boardrooms — represents partnership in action. Together with our donors and allies, Enseña por Panamá is inspiring the future and leading the present. And as our teachers continue to learn, lead, and grow, they remind us that true transformation begins with people who believe in what’s possible.
