Rani (name changed) married the boy she loved from her class, but because it was an inter-caste marriage, her family broke ties with her. At first, life seemed fine, but soon her husband, who was not working-began abusing her. One day, when the violence became unbearable, Rani left and took shelter at Seva Mandir’s Short Stay Home.
Still, hoping for change, she went back to her husband. But life only became harder. Her husband and in-laws continued the abuse, and during this time Rani also became the mother of two children, which brought added responsibilities. Despite everything, she showed great courage. She completed her master’s in commerce, while her husband secured a government teaching job. Rani believed things would finally improve, but her world was shattered when she discovered her husband was having an affair.
This time, heartbroken but determined, Rani once again came to Seva Mandir’s Shelter Home for support. Here, she received emotional care, legal guidance, and the strength to rebuild her life. With your support, she also completed a Diploma in Tourism. Today, Rani works with a tours and travel company, living independently and with dignity.
Rani’s journey shows how life-changing your support can be. Because of you, women like Rani - who face violence and abuse - find safety, healing, and the courage to start a new life.
Thank you for standing with them.
