I challenge You and Me in 2026

By Tyrone Bennett | CEO of Action Change

To our wonderful community of supporters,

It’s a bit of a shock, isn't it? In 2026, we are still talking about water as a luxury for some, when it is the most basic essential for human survival. It’s a daunting and often overwhelming reality that so many people still only have access to "non-clean" water, which brings a whole host of health risks that no child or family should have to face.

When the task feels too big, the question is always: where do we start?

This is where our 20 years of experience at Action Change comes in. We’ve found that the most effective way to change a community is through the schools. By focusing our water infrastructure there, we aren't just helping one family at a time—we are providing a central hub of clean water for hundreds of people at once. Plus, we have the data to prove it works; when a school has clean water, attendance levels skyrocket because the children are healthy and hydrated.

What we’ve been up to on the ground: Lately, we’ve been using every tool in our kit to keep the taps running. At schools already connected, we’ve been installing and maintaining high-quality filters. For those with no water at all, we are getting creative—from rainwater harvesting and drilling new boreholes to working with local government to pull pipe infrastructure directly into the school gates. In some urgent cases, we are even purchasing water to ensure the students don't have to spend their day thirsty.

The reality is that these systems are 100% funded by your donations. When the funding dries up, our ability to keep these schools connected dries up too. We are equipped, we are ready, and we have the team on the ground to make 2026 our biggest year yet.

Our Big Goal: Connecting 20,000 people in 2026.

It’s a huge target, but we can do it if we work together. This is why I’m asking you to mark your calendars for the GlobalGiving Little by Little campaign from March 17th to the 20th. Because of the 50% match on all donations up to $50, this is the most powerful week to give:

  • Your $50 becomes $75.

  • That $75 can cover the cost of a high-grade water filter or significant piping for a school connection.

Please save the date and share this message with your networks. If we move in mass, we can hit that 20,000-person goal and make sure "thirsty" is a word of the past for these communities in Peru.

Thank you for being part of this journey for two decades. Let’s turn the taps on together!
