We’re reaching out with an update on our efforts to end child marriage in Zimbabwe—a cause that remains urgent and deeply personal for many communities.
Despite recent progress, child marriage continues to affect one in three girls in Zimbabwe, with 5% married before the age of 15. This issue is particularly prevalent in rural areas, where poverty, cultural practices, and limited access to education contribute to early marriages.
Thanks to your support, we've been able to provide education, raise awareness, and offer resources to communities, helping to change attitudes and reduce the prevalence of child marriages. However, challenges persist, and our work is far from over.
Looking ahead, we are committed to continuing our efforts to end child marriage in Zimbabwe. Your continued support is crucial in helping us reach more communities, educate more girls, and create lasting change.
GlobalGiving’s Bonus Day on July 17 is a fantastic opportunity to amplify your impact. Donations made that day will be matched up to 30%, making your gift go even further to protect and empower vulnerable girls.
If you can donate or share our project with friends and family on Bonus Day, you’ll be helping us take another big step toward ending child marriage.
Thank you for standing with us and the girls of Zimbabwe.
