Hi friends
I wanted to give you an update on our work to stop child marriages in Zimbabwe and share why your support still matters so much
Child marriage is still a big challenge in many communities. Too many girls are being married off before they finish school, and it affects their health, education, and future opportunities.
Over the past few months we have been running small group sessions where girls can talk about their rights, dreams and worries. We are also working with parents and community leaders to show that early marriage is harmful and that there are other ways forward. One girl we recently helped avoided a planned marriage at 16 and is back in school. She has become a role model for her friends and it is stories like hers that keep us going
Fundraising has been slower than we hoped, so we have had to focus on fewer communities but we are working more deeply in those areas to make a bigger impact. Even helping a handful of girls in one village can create a ripple effect for the whole community
Your support makes this possible. Donations help us run safe space sessions, train mentors, work with families and keep girls in school. You can also help by sharing our work with friends, colleagues or anyone who might want to get involved
