Rainforest Protectors recently hosted a transformative educational program for nearly 50 villagers from Sri Lanka’s dry zone — many of whom had never set foot in a rainforest. Their journey to the Sinharaja World Heritage Rainforest opened their eyes to the wonders of endemic biodiversity and the vital role rainforests play in sustaining life. Participants explored the forest firsthand, guided by leading academics who delivered engaging presentations on endemic species and ecosystem services.
The response was overwhelmingly positive. Many participants expressed a renewed commitment to conservation and a desire to share what they learned with their communities.
