A New Chapter for Rainforest Conservation

We are delighted to announce the purchase of a property for the Rainforest Conservation and Education Center, located just outside the Sinharaja World Heritage Rainforest in Sri Lanka.

On October 12, 2025, we secured a 0.75acre property with a partially completed house that will serve as the foundation for our work. The ground floor is near ready for volunteers, research students, and forest rangers with:

• 2 bedrooms
• Living and dining areas
• Kitchen and toilet facilities
• A spacious verandah now showcasing educational materials for visitors

Building for the Future

• Endemic saplings have been planted, each carefully tagged
• Plans are underway for a plant nursery and nature trail
• The unfinished upstairs will become a conference room once funds are raised, creating space for workshops and research collaborations

What’s Next

Our journey has only begun. Immediate priorities include:

• Essential renovations to improve facilities
• Construction of the conference room in the long term
• Daily care and maintenance, entrusted to a dedicated local caretaker
