Wildlife cannot survive without people trained to protect it. Cubs to Conservation (C2C - Educate. Empower. Conserve.) empowers young South Africans with conservation education, mentorship, and immersive bush experiences, building the next generation of skilled wildlife guardians who will safeguard Africa's iconic species for generations to come.
Africa's wildlife faces growing threats from poaching, habitat loss, and human-wildlife conflict. Yet conservation cannot succeed without skilled, passionate people to protect it. Many young South Africans living near wildlife reserves lack access to conservation education, mentorship, and clear career pathways, leaving both their potential and our wildlife's future at risk.
C2C invests in learners over the long term, guiding them from primary school through high school and beyond. The journey begins with workshops that spark curiosity, continues with high school wildlife clubs that build knowledge, skills, and leadership, then immersive bush experiences provide real-world exposure, and mentorship plus career guidance ensures learners can translate passion into action, including potential conservation careers.
The program cultivates learners with a lasting love for wildlife, strengthened leadership, and practical conservation skills. Its alumni mentorship cycle ensures a sustainable legacy, inspiring younger participants, deepening community engagement, and helping secure a future where wildlife and people thrive together.
