She Lost 90% of Her Vision... But 100% of Your Kindness Reached Her

By muhammed deebeh | project leader

Dear Donor,

Warm greetings to you, filled with deep gratitude for the support and compassion you continue to offer to the most vulnerable families in Syria.

During the past holy month of Ramadan, while distributing food baskets to the families most in need, we came across a heartbreaking story that embodies the harsh reality many displaced people face.

Umm Ameer, a displaced woman living in a camp on the outskirts of Suran city, used to work skillfully in making artificial flowers. Though the job was simple and the income minimal, she was determined to support her family—her two children and her disabled husband.
One day, she was exposed to toxic materials and extreme heat while working, which led to the loss of 90% of her vision. Her life changed drastically—from daily struggle to painful disability.

Despite her condition, Umm Ameer kept trying to care for her family in every way possible.
Thanks to your generous donation, we were able to provide her with a complete food basket that would last her over a week, and we gave her our promise that we will work on delivering aid to her regularly.

For Umm Ameer, this food basket was more than just nourishment. It meant:

  • ray of hope during hardship.

  • Real support for a family without a capable provider.

  • message of compassion, showing that there are still people who care and remember those who’ve been forgotten.

The basket delivered to her tent didn’t only feed her family—it restored a sense of dignity and security.

Your ongoing support of this humanitarian project means:

  • Reaching hundreds of families facing similar or even harsher conditions.

  • Ensuring a basic level of food security in displacement areas.

  • Supporting women-led households, where mothers are the sole providers.

Each food basket delivered is a promise kept, and proof that goodness still exists—because of your generosity.

Thank You

On behalf of Umm Ameer, and every person who received your kindness this Ramadan, we extend our heartfelt thanks.
You have proven that there are still hearts that feel the pain of others, and hands that reach out to help the forgotten.

With your support, we feed.
With your generosity, we give life.
With your humanity, we keep going.

With many thanks,
