Armed conflict in South Kivu has destroyed homes, fields, and livelihoods. Families in Miti, Birava, Bukavu, Laziba, Katogota, Idjwi, Bunyakiri, and Kavumu are displaced with no shelter, food, or income. Many sleep outdoors, children go days without meals, and parents cannot rebuild without support. The crisis threatens long-term survival and community stability.
We will rebuild 80 safe homes, deliver 3,000 food packages, distribute 120 clothing kits, and provide 9,000 kg of high-yield seeds to restore farming. Each of the 40 solidarity groups will receive $500 to restart income activities. This direct support gives displaced families shelter, food, and a path to recovery.
Rebuilt homes offer stability, seeds restore food production, and economic support strengthens families for years. As communities regain income and resilience, children return to school, hunger decreases, and households become less vulnerable to future conflict shocks. This project helps restore dignity and long-term recovery across South Kivu.
