Ceclia is 20 years old—but her life has already been marked by pain no young woman should endure. As a refugee, she struggled daily with overwhelming stress and trauma. Sleep was rare. She worried constantly about how to feed her children and pay their school fees. At home, she faced emotional abuse from her husband, whose violent behavior left deep scars. But because of your support, her story didn’t end in despair.
She attended one of I Live Again Uganda’s mental health programs—and everything began to change. For the first time, Cecelia found hope. Through the sessions, she learned that healing is possible, and that overthinking and reliving trauma would not bring peace.
The transformation didn’t stop with her. Her husband also joined the program. There, he was confronted with the impact of his actions—and he chose to change. Today, he is no longer violent but supportive, helping to create a safer, more loving home for their family. With newfound confidence, she has now started a small business to help support her children. Cecilia's life is not without challenges, but she is no longer defined by fear—she is moving forward with strength and purpose.
Your generosity made this possible.
When you give to I Live Again Uganda, you are helping young women like her reclaim their dignity, restore their families, and rebuild their futures.
Thank you for standing with us—and with them.
