Smiles and New Beginings

By Tyrone Bennett | CEO of Action Change

Hey everyone, Ty here!

I’ve got a huge smile on my face as I write this, and I’m pretty sure by the end of this update, you will too. If you’ve been following our journey with the Rehabilitation for Disabled Children program in India, you know we aren’t just a school—we’re a lifeline for families who have been told "no" everywhere else.

The best Christmas present ever Do you remember the little girl I told you about in our last report? During the lockdown, she unfortunately lost the ability to walk. It was a heartbreaking setback, but we didn’t give up, and neither did you.

I am so thrilled to share that we had the absolute best Christmas present in December: she took her first steps! Seeing her find her footing again after all that hard work is a feeling I can’t even describe. To everyone who funded her physio sessions, her leg braces, and her walking frame, thank you. You didn't just give her equipment; you gave her back her independence.

What your festive support achieved Because of the incredible donations that poured in over the holidays, we’ve been able to send the payment to cover our physiotherapist from November all the way through to April! That is such a weight off our shoulders.

On top of the rehab, you’ve helped us stock up on stationery and brand-new music equipment. There is nothing quite like the sound of our kids making music together it puts a smile on their faces every single day, which in turn makes us smile, and I hope you’re smiling right now knowing you made that happen.

Word is spreading Our school is becoming a beacon of hope. We’ve actually had two families who live 5 hours away find us! They are so desperate for a school that accepts and celebrates children with physical and mental disabilities that they are planning to move closer just so their children can join our family. We can't wait for them to arrive and start their journey with us.

Looking ahead: The "Sleep Easy" Goal As we move further into 2026, my big dream is to find more monthly donors. While one-off gifts are amazing for big milestones, having "little and often" support helps us sleep at night. It means we don't have to wonder if we can afford the physio next month or if the school gates can stay open.

Double your impact: March 17th – 20th! If you want to help us welcome those two new families or keep our music and physio programs roaring, the Little by Little campaign is your moment!

From March 17th to March 20th, GlobalGiving is 50% matching all donations up to $50, while matching funds remain.

  • Your $50 becomes $75.

  • That extra $25 covers more sensory toys, more stationery, and more breakthroughs.

These funds run out fast, so please save the date! Let’s keep these milestones coming and show these families that they aren't alone.

Stay awesome,
