As we reach another three-month milestone, we want to start by saying a huge thank you. Your continued support of Action Change and our work in the Australian bush is what keeps our teams on the ground and our wildlife safe.

While the massive bushfires of a few years ago have faded from the international news cycle, the reality for Australia's unique wildlife remains a daily challenge. We often think of "bushfire season" as a single event, but the truth is that smaller, localized fires occur much more frequently than many realize. Though they may not make global headlines, their impact is devastating—destroying vital corridors of habitat and displacing animals that have nowhere else to go.

What your support has achieved this quarter:

Thanks to your generosity over the last three months, we have been able to focus on three critical areas of care and prevention:

1. Covering Urgent Vet Bills: Displacement often leads to injury. Whether it’s a kangaroo injured while fleeing a local blaze or a koala suffering from the effects of habitat loss, your donations have directly funded life-saving veterinary treatment and medications for rescued animals.

2. Wildlife Re-homing Programs: For many of our rescued residents, "going home" isn’t an option because their home no longer exists. We have been working hard on re-homing programs, ensuring that displaced wildlife are transitioned into safe, protected environments where they can thrive.

3. Small-Scale Fire Prevention: We know that the best way to save a life is to prevent the disaster. We have continued to support volunteer wildfire crews who work tirelessly to contain small fires before they become uncontrollable. Your funds help provide the equipment and resources these local heroes need to keep the destruction to a minimum.

The Road Ahead

As we move into the next quarter, our focus remains on "Future-Proofing" the bush. This means not just reacting to emergencies, but building resilience through our reforestation efforts and community education programs, turning the next generation into "Wildlife Ambassadors." It's been a very busy summer and we're not over it yet! 

The destruction of the bush happens quietly, one small fire or one acre of urban expansion at a time. But because of you, the protection of the bush happens loudly and with purpose.
