As we approach the Festive Season we wish to update you on our progress over the past few months.
Our renovation programme has been quite successful and we have been able to upgrade two of our Staff rooms – making their overnight accommodation much brighter. Our Shelter Office has had a coat of paint and is waiting to have the floor re-tiled. Two blocks of the dog pens have been re-plastered and re-painted, making them look much tidier. All of the above was done with donated paint etc and the two-block upgrade was completed with funds from a donor who wished to remain anonymous. Our Hospital pens are still being worked on by the maintenance team from United World College Waterford Kamhlaba Eswatini, and is very close to being completed. Unfortunately, the weather has been against them with heavy rain and storms over the past few weeks.
We held a very successful Christmas Fair this past Saturday, and although the figures are not yet finalised, we hope it will actually rove to have been so. We had a working Border Collie give a demonstration (complete with sheep) – which was very entertaining and a crowd-pleaser.
We will be putting together our 2023 programme in the next few weeks and hope to include at least two Spay/Neuter Clinics in rural areas, as well as a Rabies/Wellness Clinic once our rains have slowed down in April/May.
We would like to send you our very best wishes for the Festive Season and hope 2023 is kind to you all.
From all at SAWS, Eswatini.
