You may have heard about ‘Cyclone Freddy’ who has been causing havoc in our part of the world recently – thankfully we were only on the very edge of the rain belt.
So, now that our winter is approaching (dry season), we are gathering momentum with our renovations.
We have taken the very bold step of knocking down our Food-Prep station and have levelled the ground next to three old kennels to build a new one which will house the fridges, freezers, food prep and wash up areas. The three old kennels will possibly become a food store and lockable storage rooms. We have had to purchase blocks, sand, cement etc. but we hope the end result will be a more user-friendly space built-for-purpose.
We will be holding a Bingo Night to start off this year's ‘fund-raising’ in April followed closely by our Annual Golf Day in June. Funds raised from these events help towards our out-reach Spay/Neuter Clinics, but of course we still need support for our everyday work.
At present we are battling with a Parvo outbreak – which is very difficult to clear from the kennels. We have also had a few very bad mange cases – one wonders how people don’t see how uncomfortable this condition is.
GlobalGiving's ‘Little by Little’ Matching Campaign started on Monday, the 3rd and is ending this Friday, the 7th. During the campaign period, GlobalGiving will match 50% to every donation received up to a value of $50! So don't miss the chance to donate to our projects and maximize your impact!
Thank you for the support you have shown us so far. We will keep you updated on our progress as the months go on.
From all at SAWS, Eswatini
