Dear Suppawters,
MJ is our ambassador and puppy warrior here in Cape Town. He was Rescued and went through intensive rehab when he came to us a couple of years ago, now staying at our haven awaiting adoption he sadly was taken sick last week.
The vets have been working on the swelling and drained fluid over the weekend but ultimately we had no choice to give the go ahead for a procedure to be done where he is put under anesthesia and then biopsies of all his organs are taken to ascertain severetiy and spread. But there is fluid now in his left lung so this has been halted.
Our course forward is to give him diuretics to remove all fluid build up so that we can proceed with this operation, in order to find a confirmed name as well as a potential way forward for treatment because there is that potential treatment, based on all findings however all our funds have been spent on food over the past 8 weeks as we have been forced to rescue so many puppies that our farm is full and the team are working around the clock on rehab and re-homing efforts.
We have even had to pause our amazingly needed outreach efforts as we don't have funding. It's a critical time for us and we are working on every possible solution to cut our funding to ensure the 25 dogs we have that need our attention right now get it but we know this comes at a huge cost to other puppies on the streets of the townships being used for fighting or being abused by gangs.
We need to get back out there but we can only do it through the support of donors, if you can please share our stories and help us bring in some critical funding and monthly donors so we can get our project back on track!
Thank You
