We hope your 2026 has kicked off to a great start! We are thrilled to share some wonderful news with you:

Together, we surpassed our $100,000 year-end goal for ongoing HRI programs and continued hurricane and humitarian relief! THANK YOU!

This milestone is a powerful reminder of what is possible when compassionate people come together for the sake of others. Because of your generosity, real lives have been changed.

Every dollar given represents a person with a name, a story, and immeasurable value. From displaced families seeking safety and water… from single mothers striving to provide for their children… to widows facing hardship with courage… from children living with disabilities… to precious babies still in utero whose lives were protected and supported—each one matters.

Every contribution played a vital role in meeting urgent needs and restoring hope. Lives have been saved, strengthened, and improved because you chose to act. Thank you for believing that every life is worth fighting for.

In 2025, we together served 297,575 people! We knew we would grow in 2025, but your giving enabled us to surpass our dreams. Thank you for your generosity, your trust, and your partnership. We are deeply honored to walk this mission with you into 2026.

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa and an ongoing humanitarian disaster in Haiti, thousands of families were left without clean water, safe shelter, or basic supplies.Thanks to your generosity, Hunger Relief International (HRI) has been able to respond quickly and compassionately bringing immediate relief to those who need it most.

Here is what your support made possible in 2025:

314 tarps distributed to families to provide shelter from the rain & sun and privacy while they sleep & change.
8 showers built so families can bathe safely and maintain dignity.
3,720 bars of soap distributed to promote hygiene and safeguard health.
9,600 gallons of potable water delivered, giving families safe water for drinking & cooking.
18,000 gallons of tap water delivered for bathing & washing clothing.
1 water tank installed at a site for over 2,000 people that previously had no water access.
24 gallons of chlorine disinfectant provided to sanitize water sources and prevent the spread of illness.
2 health & hygiene trainings conducted to prevent the spread of cholera and other waterborne diseases.

Every one of these numbers represents a family protected, a child kept safe, and a community given hope in the midst of devastation. This impact is only possible because of you!

As recovery continues, the needs remain great—but so does the power of compassionate people like you who choose to stand with vulnerable families in crisis.

Building Resilience: Saving Displaced Persons

Hunger Relief International Program Update – October 2025

Hunger Relief International (HRI) continues to respond to the urgent needs of displaced families and vulnerable communities across Haiti. Despite financial challenges, our teams are working tirelessly to provide life-saving resources, education, and support to those who need it most.

Waterborne Disease Prevention Trainings
As hurricane season begins, the risk of waterborne disease rises sharply. HRI is leading critical trainings for members of the WASH Committee, Central Committee, Civil Protection, and residents of displaced persons camps. These sessions equip community leaders and residents with the knowledge and tools necessary to protect thousands of people during emergencies. Through these trainings, we are building resilience and empowering communities—one session at a time.

Clean Water Distribution
Due to limited grants and financial support at this time, HRI has had to reduce the number of sites and individuals we are able to serve with clean water. Currently, we are distributing approximately 29,200 gallons of clean water each month to 7,863 displaced persons. While this represents a smaller scale of support, each drop of water delivered continues to save lives and protect health.

Tarps and Hygiene Kits
Distributions of tarps and hygiene kits remain a vital source of relief for families living in temporary camps. HRI provides these essential resources one family at a time as funding allows. Your generosity directly impacts families who face extreme hardship every day.

Impact Story – Claude Joseph and His Children
Thanks to the compassionate support of our donors, Claude Joseph and his children—living in a camp for displaced families—now have tarps that provide shelter from rain, protection from the hot sun, and much-needed privacy. Before this assistance, their daily life was marked by exposure, discomfort, and insecurity. Now, they have a safe and dignified space to rest, change clothes, and simply live with a sense of hope.

Impact Story – Isiani Pierre and Daughter
Another family benefiting from your generosity is Isiani Pierre and her young daughter, who also live in a displaced persons camp. HRI was able to provide them with a hygiene kit, giving them the essential supplies they need to stay healthy and maintain dignity in very challenging living conditions. This simple gift has a profound impact, helping mother and daughter feel cared for, protected, and supported by a community that stands with them.

Trainings, Water & Tarps are Saving Lives!

Providing more water for displaced persons

In June and July, Hunger Relief International (HRI) is leading critical trainings on prevention of waterborne diseases for members of the WASH Committee, Central Committee, Civil Protection, and residents of displaced persons camps across Haiti. These sessions are vital to equipping community leaders and residents with the knowledge and tools to protect thousands of vulnerable people during emergencies. The timing is perfect as hurricane season is beginning and the risk is elevated. Together, we're building resilience—one training at a time!

In addition, HRI continues to provide clean water at 6 sites for 62,067 displaced persons. We have provided 30,400 gallons of potable water and 62,067 of regular water at displaced person camps in 2025!

Distributions of tarps are also proving to be very important. Here is one story of a family we are helping:

Raymond Marie Lourde and her 6-year-old daughter are currently living in a camp for displaced persons. Like many families forced to flee their homes, they face daily struggles just to stay safe and dry. Their shelter is extremely vulnerable to rain, wind, and exposure, so HRI stepped in to provide durable tarps.

These tarps may seem simple, but they can make a life-changing difference. They provide vital protection from the elements, helping to prevent illness and giving families a sense of security and dignity in incredibly difficult circumstances.

Raymond Marie is doing everything she can to care for her little girl, but they can’t do it alone. When we come together to help families like theirs, we’re not just giving material support—we’re offering hope, compassion, and solidarity.
