Disaster Aid USACommand Center Trailer – Final Report
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Disaster Aid USA (DAUSA) successfully raised the funds needed to purchase and fully outfit a mobile Command Center Trailer designed to support disaster response operations and community recovery efforts.
The Command Center Trailer is equipped to serve as a self-contained operational hub in disaster zones. Equipment and capabilities include:
Chainsaws for debris removal and tree clearing
Drying fans for flood and water damage response
Gas and solar generators for reliable power in off-grid areas
Starlink satellite communication systems
Satellite phone capability
Computers for volunteer coordination and management
An ATV for transportation in difficult terrain
Sleeping bunks for response team members
A small kitchen and shower for extended deployments
This trailer has already proven to be an extremely valuable asset during multiple deployments.
During the Hurricanes Helene and Milton responses in Florida, the Command Center Trailer served several critical roles:
Operational Command Post
Coordinated volunteer teams conducting chainsaw work and “muck and gut” operations.
Managed volunteer intake, assignments, and safety briefings.
Community Communication Hub
Provided survivors access to Starlink internet and satellite phones when local infrastructure was down.
Allowed residents to contact family members out of state.
Helped survivors complete FEMA assistance applications online and request additional aid.
Volunteer Support Base
Provided sleeping quarters, meals, and sanitation facilities for response teams working long hours in challenging environments.
The Command Center Trailer has already been deployed numerous times and continues to serve as a critical mobile disaster response platform for Disaster Aid USA operations.
This capability dramatically improves our ability to:
Rapidly deploy trained response teams
Coordinate volunteers safely and efficiently
Support affected communities when communications are down
Provide a centralized hub for relief operations
The trailer will remain a key resource for many years to come, strengthening Disaster Aid USA’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to disasters across the United States and internationally.
We extend our sincere thanks to the donors, Rotary partners, and supporters who made this project possible. Your generosity has created a life-saving resource that will continue helping communities recover after disasters for many years.
