APTEKKA group currently has a consistent number of members of approximately 135 individuals. The group has expressed that many of the members has been operating decently. It has been imperative to engage with the members to train and/ or refresh their understanding in the area of commerce. Basic skills and concepts are taught to provide a practical understanding of business operations. Members receive an introduction to management and accounting to ensure each member are pricing competitively, managing their inventory efficiently, and understanding their income, expense, and net income.

The members continues to engage in the sale of food products (milk, oil, flour, soap, sugar, candy, etc.), agricultural products purchased in the area (beans, corn, rice, peanuts, fruits, market products), cosmetic products, some of them buy animals to slaughter (goats) to sell meat. Others also make fried foods and cooked food.

Tet Kole Mase (TKM) is peasant group of rice farmers who presented their need for cultivating several rice fields for economic purposes. In the spring, the Organization received a credit of 24500.00 Haitian Gourdes for each field. The funds has permitted the farmers to prepare and plants a total of 25 rice field. Members has land that they cleared of debris and loosen soil clods. The surface was leveled for wet planting. The field was flooded and consistently watered.

Currently, the rice has sprouted. The members has been tending and removing the weeds. The group is expecting to harvest within the next 8 weeks. It normally takes 120 to 180 days, from planting to harvest. Haiti’s tropical climate provides suitable conditions for two rice annually, allowing farmers to grow rice in both the spring and fall.
