Dear Donors,
Cyclone Ditwah has deeply affected the economy of our small island, Sri Lanka, leaving communities to rebuild inch by inch. In this challenging time, the support we have received from you has been truly magnanimous, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for stepping forward to help.
Our project, originally planned to support 4,000 students in Ampara and Maha Oya, had to be temporarily postponed due to the cyclone’s impact. We are now pleased to inform you that we will be visiting these areas from 15–17 January, 2026 to distribute essential school items to nearly 4,000 students in remote schools. Many of these children have been directly affected by Cyclone Ditwah, and thanks to your generosity, they will be blessed with the supplies they need to continue their education.
Last month, together with our major donor for this project, we visited a school in Matara and distributed school essentials to its students. During this visit, the donor also pledged to support the establishment of a computer lab for the school—a project we hope to implement very soon.
We thank you sincerely for your kind consideration and continued support. More details and updates on this initiative will be shared in the coming weeks, along with photographs from our visits.
Warm regards,
Suranjani Wickremeratne
