SUCCESS STORY of Cooking Stove by Mrs. Shanti near Matli

Mrs. Shanti w/o Jewan Dass age 36 years, resident of village Kermshi Kolhi near Matli. The village has more than 73 families and they are using traditional stove for cooking purposes & the wood is also the responsibility of women to pick from outside the village. As huge work burden the health of the village women has been effected and major problem across smoke has affected the eye of  Mrs. Shanti and no of women and children of the village Kermshi Kolhi . women get up early in the morning and work all the day by preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner and also contributing in agricultural lands as well as care of animals and their grass all work done by village women. The traditional stove hasn’t any chimney and proper place for exhaustion of smoke. Since AHD staff conduct visits in the village during early 2012 and introduced  their FES cooking stoves in the village of Kermshi Kolhi. Mrs. Shanti helped AHD staff and learned cooking stove construction. She also the core group members of the village women group. FES cooking stove has chimney to through smoke 5 to 6 feet high and women get smoke free coking environment.

Mrs. Shanti personally thankful to Global Giving & AHD staff for the training on FES cooking stove and now their whole family and village enjoying safe and smoke free cooking environment. She told no more eyes affected of any village women and children since June 2012 and now they will use AHD FES cooking stove in future.
