AHD stands in solidarity with the people of Myanmar, who are facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis following a catastrophic earthquake. On Friday, March 28, a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, leaving a trail of destruction, loss, and despair.
The country, already struggling with ongoing conflict and economic hardships under military rule, is now dealing with an acute emergency. Thousands have lost their lives, many more are injured, and countless remain missing. The devastation is widespread, with infrastructure severely damaged—Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, and Sagaing have seen more than half of their buildings collapse, while Yangon, though less affected, is still in distress.
