Rescue and empower trafficked children in Mumbai

Dear Friend,

Greetings from El Shaddai .To rescue and empower trafficked children, a multi-faceted approach is needed, including rescue operations, providing safe shelters, trauma-informed care, and long-term rehabilitation services. El Shaddai focuses on connecting victims with government mechanisms for rescue and rehabilitation, offering counselling, and facilitating access to education and healthcare.

Like any other child of his age, Sahil and Neha (Name Changed) wanted to go to school, do well in academics and play with their friends. But life had planned otherwise.

Owing to the dire financial crisis, their parents are balloon sellers and could not afford to send them to school. They forced them to beg on streets of Mumbai. There were 4 hungry mouths to feed each day at home. Begging became the pressing need of the hour. Instead of going to school, every morning they walked the roads of Mumbai begging for money or food.

Fortunately, the tables turned. Our Outreach worker saw them begging, they rescued both of them and admitted in Rena Home where they were welcomed with love, warm food, clean clothing, and a hope for a secure future. They were enrolled in BTC school where they are taking their academic education. Children also learn extra-curricular activities like bracelet making, Cycling, playing Badminton, carom and cricket etc.

El Shaddai has bought back their smiles.
