We have been hosting legal aid clinics in Mumbai with our partners at Majlis Law, helping women better understand their rights, the laws that protect them, and offering basic mediation training. Over time, we realised that many survivors feel intimidated by legal language, so we began creating simple, accessible explainer kits that break down complex concepts into everyday terms. Most recently, we launched a mini-zine on domestic violence laws and available support services in partnership with the Consulate of Mexico in Mumbai.
As part of the 16 Days of Activism, Red Dot Foundation, Majlis Law, and the Consulate co-hosted a community session led by Mr. Adolfo Dmello Estrada, Ms. Supreet K. Singh, and Adv. Ms. Audrey Dmello. It brought together legal experts, frontline workers, and community members to discuss how we can make information truly survivor-centred.
This mini-zine is designed to simplify the law, help survivors navigate their options, and encourage compassionate, informed conversations. The 16 Days remind us that awareness is where change begins, and this small resource is one step toward standing firmly with those affected by violence.
