We’re excited to share what your generous support has made possible this past quarter. Across Afghanistan, despite ongoing restrictions on girls' and women’s education and freedoms, Sahar Education continues to deliver transformative programs that blend knowledge, confidence, and community—empowering Afghan girls and women to reclaim their futures.
Empowerment Bridge App: Coding Underway!
We’re thrilled to announce that development is officially underway for our Empowerment Bridge App—a revolutionary new platform that will bring Sahar’s full spectrum of empowerment resources to young women across Afghanistan, completely free of charge and accessible via mobile devices.
Building on our successful Empowerment Bridge curriculum, the app will include:
Women's rights and health education
Mental health and domestic violence support pathways
Career and digital literacy content
Interactive modules, accessible offline
Integration with WhatsApp for discreet and easy access
With this app, girls who cannot attend underground programs due to security risks or location barriers will finally have direct access to life-changing tools and information. The app is being built with privacy, usability, and Dari language support at its core—ensuring inclusivity for those who need it most.
Program Impact: Skill-Building with Purpose
Across all Sahar programs—from Underground TechSheroes to Threads of Hope—we’re continuing to refine our integrated model of combining:
Vocational training (like sewing and digital skills)
Comprehensive women’s empowerment education
Menstrual and reproductive health awareness
Already in 2025, our programs have reached over 750 women and girls, with 95% of graduates reporting increased self-confidence, improved mental health, and readiness to pursue further education or income-generating opportunities.
Graduates have gone on to launch home-based businesses, pursue online university classes, and become peer mentors in their communities—proving that even in the face of oppression, education is a powerful force for change.
Why Your Support Matters
In Afghanistan, education is an act of resistance and hope.
Sahar’s approach goes beyond instruction. We enfold empowerment and health education into every workshop, whether a girl is learning how to use a computer or how to sew. This holistic model ensures participants walk away not just with skills, but with knowledge about their rights, confidence in their voices, and the courage to lead.
Your support doesn’t just fund classes—it creates a safe ecosystem for Afghan women and girls to learn, grow, and survive. Every donation helps us train local women facilitators, support transportation and internet, build digital tools like the Empowerment Bridge App, and expand access to education under the most difficult circumstances.
Thank you for standing with Sahar and the incredible women and girls of Afghanistan.
Together, we’re building a bridge to hope.
