Resilience in Action: Empowering Women and Girls

In 2025, Sahar continued its mission in one of the most challenging operating environments in the world. Amid ongoing security concerns and increasing crackdowns on programs serving women and girls in Afghanistan, we remained adaptive, resilient, and deeply committed to our community.

Despite these obstacles, Sahar programs reached 778 participants in 2025 — each one a life touched with care, dignity, and hope. This impact represents not just numbers, but individuals who have been supported, encouraged, and reminded that their futures still matter.

The past year brought heightened restrictions and uncertainty, particularly for initiatives supporting women and girls. Taliban policies and enforcement continued to limit access, mobility, and visibility for many programs. In response, Sahar remained flexible in its approach — adjusting program delivery methods, timelines, and partnerships to ensure continuity wherever possible.

This adaptability allowed us to operate successfully throughout 2025, maintaining program quality while prioritizing participant safety. Our ability to navigate these challenges is a testament to the strength of our local relationships and the determination of the communities we serve.

Through Sahar’s programs, 778 participants received support that extended beyond immediate services. Each participant was offered something equally vital: hope.

In a context where systemic barriers attempt to silence and sideline women and girls, Sahar’s work helped reinforce a powerful message — that their lives, voices, and futures are worth fighting for. Every individual reached in 2025 was given renewed reason to continue advocating for their rights, their education, and their well-being.

In parallel with ongoing programming, 2025 was also a year of exploration and growth. Sahar actively searched for new partners and programs aligned with our mission. We tested several potential collaborations, assessed feasibility under evolving conditions, and laid the groundwork for future expansion.

This search continues into 2026, as we remain committed to identifying sustainable, high-impact opportunities that allow us to responsibly broaden our reach while staying true to our values.

At the heart of all our work is Sahar’s guiding vision:

“An Afghanistan where women and girls are empowered to lead healthy, intentional lives.”

This vision continues to anchor our decisions, partnerships, and programs — especially during times of uncertainty. In 2025, it was not only a statement of intent, but a lived commitment reflected in every participant reached.

While challenges persist, Sahar enters 2026 with clarity and resolve. The progress made in 2025 demonstrates that even in restrictive environments, meaningful impact is possible. With continued flexibility, strategic partnerships, and unwavering belief in the resilience of Afghan women and girls, and your support, Sahar will keep moving forward — one life, one opportunity, one act of hope at a time.
