CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

By Qasim Alowaid/Roz Fuller | President/Vice-President

Mental Health & Disability Support Program

Supporting the Most Vulnerable Children

As the school year draws to a close, many of the children supported by ICHOPE have shown remarkable improvements in their behavior, emotional well-being, and overall health. With the generous backing of our donors and supporters, we continue to serve children with mental health challenges, including those on the autism spectrum and others with developmental, physical, or emotional disabilities.

ICHOPE remains committed to advocating for the rights of children with disabilities and ensuring they have access to the services they need to thrive. Our efforts over the past three months focused on the following areas:

  • Early Intervention Services for children with autism and developmental delays
  • Family assistance and training, including parent support groups
  • Partnerships with local health and education programs
  • Awareness and training on autism and mental health for families and caregivers

Program Achievements

  • 28 children received ongoing treatment at two specialized centers. These children have made significant strides in communication, emotional expression, and daily interaction. Many now arrive at the centers smiling and excited, showing greater comfort and trust with the staff.

The treatment programs emphasize consistency, emotional safety, and engaging in learning activities that help children grow socially and cognitively.

  • 5 dedicated volunteers have supported families, helping them navigate treatment plans, offering emotional support, and ensuring children attend their sessions regularly.

With your continued support , we are committed to continuing this life-changing work. Our goal remains to ensure that every child receives the care, education, and support they need to reach their full potential.

Your generosity is directly impacting lives, bringing hope, healing, and opportunity to children who need it most. Together, we are making a lasting difference in the lives of Iraq’s most vulnerable children.
