CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

Mental Health & Disability Support Program                            September 2025

Empowering Children with Special Needs

As we close another school term, the Iraqi Children’s Hope Organization (ICHOPE) is proud to share the progress made through our Mental Health & Disability Support Program. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are reaching some of the most vulnerable children, those living with autism, developmental delays, emotional difficulties, and physical disabilities.

Our mission remains clear: to champion the rights of children with disabilities, ensuring they have access to specialized care and opportunities that enable them to thrive.

Focus on the Past Quarter

Over the past three months, our work has centered on:

· Early intervention therapies for children with autism and developmental challenges.

· Family support and training, including parent-focused workshops and peer groups.

· Collaboration with local health and education providers to extend impact and resources.

· Awareness programs to guide families and caregivers in understanding autism and mental health.

Key Achievements

  • 19 children continued treatment at two specialized centers. Their progress has been remarkable, showing improvements in communication, social interaction, and emotional stability. Many now greet their caregivers with smiles and enthusiasm, a testament to the trust and sense of safety fostered by our programs.
  • 4 committed volunteers worked directly with families, helping them navigate therapy plans, encouraging attendance, and offering ongoing emotional support.

Our therapeutic approach emphasizes consistency, emotional security, and engaging learning activities, which help children build confidence while developing social and cognitive skills.

Looking Ahead

With your ongoing partnership, we will continue to expand this vital program. Every contribution directly transforms lives, bringing hope, healing, and opportunities to children who face the greatest challenges.

Together, we are ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, has the chance to reach their full potential.
