During this quarter from June, 2025 to September, 2025, the victim families affected by earthquake live in very difficult situation of rainy season in hills and mountains areas in Nepal. Thery are highly risk of flooding and erosion because of heavy rainfall. MRC Nepal provided awareness raising training victim families for the early waring system of disaster nd how to save life. Victim families are interested to take awareness training on how to save life against disaster. MRC Nepal provided blanket as a warm clothes which is demand and need based material by the affected families. MRC Nepal distributed warm clothes for saving from winter to the pregnant, lactating women, children and older ages people that are more affected.
As a long term income generation activities to maintain livelihood of the families, MRC Nepal supported vegetable seeds for fresh vegetable production as a quick income generation activities. Participating affected families received seeds, nutrients, skill enhancement capacity building training and technical backstopping support. So that they are capable of producing fresh vegetables which meet their kitchen requirement and also sell to raise income and maintain better livelihood. The package and practices of vegetable farming have been introduced as a demand and need based activities by the earthquake affected families. The victim families able to earn money from the sell of vegetables so that improve their livelihood sustainably in a longer period. The demand and need is highly increasing in this regard and vegetable farming will be the best option for increasing income and maintaining livelihood of the affected people. The areas are highly feasible for vegetable production which is the only means for increasing income.
MRC Nepal reached to the remote hills and with marginal people where the support of warm clothes such as warm blankets were distributed based on demand and need. By receiving such need based warm clothes, the victim families were so pleased and happy. At the end, whole beneficiaries and local authorities warmly welcome and thanked to GLOBAL GIVING FUND and MRC Nepal support.
