As Albert Einstein once said, "Failure is success in progress." One of the most important lessons we can teach our kids is that not reaching a particular goal on the first try, or failing an important test and accepting when we do not perform in the way we want is all part of the journey. All of these experiences are stepping stones  that provide valuable learning opportunities, and most importantly, they build resilience.

For several years Kala struggled in school. She put in the effort and time, but did not do as well as she wanted to. It was very dissapointing for her to not achieve what she wanted in school. Last year, things began to change. One of her teachers noticed how hard she was working and how frustrated she was when a grade was lower than she expected.

This teacher took the time to mentor her and help her change her study habits, teaching her a variety of important lessons in how to study, how to retain information from reading materials and other tips. As the year progressed, Kala began to do better in school. Her grades improved, her test scores rose and she saw success in her studies.

This past May Kala was given the award for being first in her class at the end of the school year. What a wonderful day for her to reciceve this reward with all of her brothers and sisters looking on.

We are incredibly proud of her and the hard work she has put into her education.
